There was a few other games to check out Eurogamer, one of the games which had lots of attention was Killzone 2, it always had a crowd of people around all 3 screens, everyone glued their eyes to the amount of detail of graphics and the action that was displayed on screen, I did not get a chance to play Killzone, but we have a video for you to check out of some action from the game.

Res Evil 5 was on display, which was kind of shocking, I really didn’t expect this to be there, both formats was there Xbox 360 and PS3, Ben chose to play the PS3 version, here is what Ben thought of it.

“Graphics was very good, highly detailed is most areas, bloody and very gory, the graphics brings a great atmosphere to the game makes you feel all warm inside yet on edge at the same time, gives you a sense of being there in the middle of the action. Sound of weapons is very good, even though the sound was drained out everyone else behind you, the sound created an amazing atmosphere which added to the experience. The one bad thing that you will notice the most is the shaky camera, over sensitive and at times can leave you getting your ass chomped out! Overall Resident Evil 5 for new and old fans will be a massive hit!”

Resistance 2 was one of 2 Sony’s big games that was there to play, I sat down, went to load up the game and well you never guess what it crashed!! Reason being that the code for the game was still in the beta stage (Well that was their excuse) There was a wide range of levels to choose from, the Sony rep told me to choose one of the top 3, I guess I picked one of the good ones as soon as it loaded up the action started up right away, the graphics were unreal, the vast amount of detail was just amazing, control wise nothing has really change and the game still sounds great, it will be great to see the full gold code in action.

Tom Clancy’s Hawx was also there to play on the Xbox 360 I was kind of looking forward to giving this a try, I have played a few flight Sims like the Ace Combat series etc. Well all I have to say is I was playing ace combat yet again, it seemed the same game over again, I was not impressed at all, let’s just say only buy this if you’re a flying fan or an Ace Combat fan.

The only game that the WII  had to offer was Rayman Raving Rabbids, the first game was great, had many laughs with it all the second one seemed like an add-on for the first game,  now the third introduces the use of the WII bored into the mix, I will be very interested to see what Ubisoft comes out with this, hopefully more mini games that use the Wii board and other features.

Call of duty World at war had its own little corner, with a free for all 16 player match, there was only the Xbox 360 format to try out, no PS3 version. While in Queue I got to talk to a Treyarch Rep/Dev, which I had only a little amount of time to have a quick chat and ask 1 0r 2 questions, we started off talking about how the game has changed and that Treyarch will be making all their games set in world war era, while infinity wards will be making the modern warfare games, the Treyarch guy, said that “there has been a few changes to the settings and of course the weapons, perks, small things like that, but with the little time they had to work on the game, they didn’t get to add all they wanted” next on the topic, he started saying how good CoD5 will be, but CoD6 on the other hand will be so good it will leave CoD4 and 5 in the shadows, he also said one other thing “Call of duty 6 modern warfare 2 should be out in Q2 of next year!” which I thought wow that is very soon, he didn’t give me an answer why either. He asked if I had entered into the beta, which sadly I did not this time round, we somehow managed to start talking about gears of war 2 which his first words to that was “I finished that game over a month ago” I was just like, “it was nice of them to make us wait so long after the game has been ready” he laughed our conversation moved back on to CoD4 which he talked himself up by saying he beat the CoD4 developer at his own game and he was not very good at the game, and took the developer to school, after that comment, he got a phone call and run off!
As for World At War, the game felt like CoD4 with just a different setting, which I didn’t mind because I loved 4, they gave us a little time to set up some perks and gun set ups, the match started, which I started off slow, but got the hang of things very quickly and in turn racking up a 10 kill streak, unleashing the new weapons the DOGS! I think this helped me out for sure! we had 1 person from Activision playing with us, and well I just have to say, I don’t think I lost my touch of CoD4 I was top killer with 30 kills (match default win I think) the Activision guy was second and Ben come 3rd, it made me feel good in a little way!

Overall the Eurogamer expo was good, there was a good range of games, which kept people interested, but that’s where the good points stop, the layout seemed a little messy, some areas got so crowded you had to take the long way around to get to where you wanted to go, it was a lot smaller than I expected. there wasn’t as many consoles for certain games, SF4, Call Of Duty World At War, Gears Of  War 2,  Resistance 2 and Killzone 2 needed more consoles on hand, as queue were very big most of the time.
Staff didn’t really seemed bothered, they was just talking to each other, not really answering when helped was needed, the only person that was ready to talk about everything was the rep from Treyarch. If there is a show next year, we will be there for sure, the expo was good but as it was their first, they are still learning, so it should be even better next year!
