Ahh, God bless custom firmware. Who wants MGS: PO and God of War when I can play every Mario, Sonic, Zelda and even Final Fantasy title prior to generation six consoles, on the move.
Well, Sony apparently.
In a recent interview with MCVUK, President of SCEE David Reeves spoke of the piracy issues involving the PSP, saying that Sony acknowledged the problem/awesomeness of the concept and that a method to stop custom firmware is on its way.
Reeves was quoted “There is a piracy problem on the PSP. We know about it, we know how it’s done. It sometimes fuels the growth of hardware sales, but on balance, we’re not happy about it“.
In other words, it’s bad, yet it makes us plenty of money which is good, yet it’s still bad.

So Sony are just over the moon about making money off Nintendo, their biggest competition in the handheld market. No wonder they aren’t going to sort the problem out.
