Recently we reviewed the demo version of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed on the PS3. This time around I thought I would review the PSP version!

I’m a star wars fan, I will admit that, I love the films!

First Impressions: Graphics are very good for the PSP, no big dolled up cuts scenes like in the PS3 verion of the game. Controls were easy to get a grip of, and once that Star Wars music hit I felt all warm inside!

As most of you will know, the first level involves Darth Vader! Though you have to slay some wookies, you have some cool dark side powers like Choke, Grip, Throwing your light sabre, Force Throw and so on, and that’s just Darth Vader’s Move Set, the move set for the Apprentice was different, with more moves, you are able to double jump. Vader is unable to jump, he walks through kicking the wookies arse’s! I was very impressed overall with how everything was set out, including the graphics and sounds. The only issue I found was the camera angle.

Graphics: By PSP standards this is a very tidy in areas with some very weird looking shapes. Explosions look half decent, character detail was very good, even in cut scenes. Though when it comes down to seeing the star destroyers in space and tie fighters you can see they didn’t spend as much time on these as other things.

Sound: Light Sabres sounded cool, most of the effects are above average, and the music just had that great feeling, just like when you watched the films.

Longevity: I played this right through to the end, only took me about 5-6 hours to finish, which is half decent you can replay the boss fights in Force unleashed mode, but other than that, you do have multiplayer mode, which I have not tried, so please let me know if it is any good?

Overall: I did enjoy most of this game, there were some slow-down in areas and the camera angle did annoy me in some parts of the game. This is a must buy for all Star wars fans. The story is amazing, so many turns you won’t want to miss any of them. If you’re a normal gamer looking for a quick pick up and play this might be for you, it does have its great moments, and the story will keep some non star wars fans focused.
